Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has revealed his desire to return to school and earn a university degree after retiring from professional football.

The 27-year-old made the revelation during a recent interview, explaining that football careers are relatively short and that education remains an important investment for life after the game.

Osimhen disclosed that he dropped out in Senior Secondary School 3 (SSS 3) due to financial difficulties as he pursued his football dream.

Despite achieving global success, the former Napoli star said he still hopes to complete his education and obtain a degree.

“I’d love to go back to school and earn a degree because football only lasts 20 to 25 years,” Osimhen said. “I want to prove that you can become successful and still return to school.”

The Nigerian international also dismissed the popular phrase, “school na scam,” insisting that education plays a crucial role in personal development.

“It’s when you make money that you realise school is not a scam,” he said, stressing that education helps people think critically and make better decisions.

Osimhen added that he hopes his story will inspire young Nigerians, especially those who were forced to leave school because of financial hardship, to pursue their education whenever the opportunity arises.
While looking ahead to life after football, Osimhen remains one of Africa’s biggest stars.

The prolific forward continues to shine for Turkish champions Galatasaray and is expected to play a key role for the Super Eagles in upcoming international competitions.

His comments have been widely praised by fans, with many commending him for promoting education and encouraging young people to combine success with learning.
