Nigeria Face Tunisia Today as Africa Senior Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup Campaign Begins
Nigeria’s senior women’s volleyball team will open their campaign at the 2026 African Senior Women’s Volleyball Nations Championship today, Tuesday, with a Group C clash against Tunisia in Kenya.
The encounter is scheduled for 1:00pm Nigerian time at the Ulinzi Complex, with the Nigerian side aiming to make a positive start to their continental campaign.
Under the guidance of head coach Elishama Ellam, Nigeria will be looking to combine discipline, tactical organisation and attacking efficiency against a Tunisia side expected to provide a stern opening test.
Nigeria are among the teams competing in Group C, alongside Cameroon, Tunisia and Ghana.
With qualification from the group expected to be fiercely contested, securing a favourable result in the opening fixture could prove crucial to the team’s progression in the tournament.
The Nigerian squad has been preparing for the championship with the objective of competing strongly against some of the continent’s established volleyball nations.
Coach Ellam will be expected to get the best out of his players as Nigeria seek to establish themselves early in the competition and build momentum ahead of their subsequent group fixtures.
The match against Tunisia therefore represents more than just an opening-day fixture, as Nigeria look to lay a strong foundation for their campaign in Kenya.
