EuroMatch NPFL: Doma United Take Early Lead as Kano Pillars Win Five-Goal Thriller
Doma United have emerged as the early leaders of the EuroMatch NPFL 2026/27 season after becoming the first team to secure two victories from two matches.
Doma United moved to the top of the NPFL table with six points following their impressive 1-0 away victory over Inter Lagos on Saturday.
The result means Doma have maintained a perfect start to the new campaign, while several teams are yet to complete their Matchday 2 fixtures.
Kano Pillars were among the big winners on Sunday, defeating Niger Tornadoes 3-2 in an entertaining five-goal thriller to move to four points.
Barau FC also have four points after playing out a goalless draw with Kun Khalifat, while Ikorodu City and Rivers United remain on three points.
Four Matchday 2 fixtures have been postponed due to the involvement of Nigerian clubs in CAF inter-club competitions.
Enugu Rangers, Rivers United and Shooting Stars are among the clubs whose domestic fixtures have been affected by their continental commitments.
With some teams still having games in hand, the NPFL table could change significantly when the outstanding Matchday 2 fixtures are played.
Doma United, however, have made the strongest early statement with back-to-back victories as the race for the 2026/27 NPFL title begins to take shape.
NPFL Matchday 2 Standings
