Two-time Olympian, African champion and African record holder Chukwuebuka Enekwechi will sponsor the men’s shot put event at the Athletic Heat 10th Anniversary Meet, with ₦950,000 in prize money available to the top four finishers.
The competition is scheduled for November 7, 2026, at the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) Sports Complex in Lagos, as part of activities marking the 10th anniversary of Athletic Heat.
Under the prize structure announced for the event, the winner will receive ₦400,000, while the second-place finisher will earn ₦300,000.
The third-placed athlete will take home ₦150,000, with the fourth-place finisher receiving ₦100,000.
Enekwechi’s sponsorship represents an investment in Nigerian athletics, providing financial incentives for shot put athletes and supporting efforts to promote competition and talent development in the sport.
The Nigerian shot put star has represented the country at two Olympic Games and established himself as one of Africa’s leading athletes in the discipline.
Athletes interested in competing have been urged to register through A3Tickets before the registration deadline.
The Athletic Heat 10th Anniversary Meet will celebrate athletics, competition and the continued development of the sport in Nigeria, with Enekwechi’s sponsorship adding significant financial incentives to the men’s shot put event.
