At Bethlehem Field in Abule Ado, FC Ogunlade produced a solid performance to defeat FC Amoo 2-1, sealing a 3-1 aggregate victory and booking their place in the next round.
The contest highlighted the enduring instincts and finishing abilities of the former stars.
Drama unfolded at Rehab Center Field in Isheri, where FC Babington battled FC Dosu to a 1-1 draw.
The result was enough for Babington to progress 3-2 on aggregate, with their composure under pressure proving decisive.
In another entertaining fixture, FC Elahor edged FC Ayegbeni 3-2 in a pulsating encounter that once again showcased the excitement and attacking quality still present in the tournament.
FC Ayila also impressed with a commanding 3-1 victory over FC Alloy. Ola Raji starred for Ayila with goals in the 3rd and 52nd minutes, while Abalo Abayomi added the third goal in the 62nd minute.
Emmanuel scored Alloy’s lone goal in the 30th minute, but it was not enough to stop Ayila’s march into the next round.
Elsewhere, FC Giwa played out a goalless draw against FC Temile but advanced comfortably with a 5-2 aggregate scoreline.
FC Udeze added to the day’s excitement with a hard-fought 2-1 win over FC Ugbade, while one of the most dramatic moments came in the clash between FC Ikpeba and FC Odini.
After both sides settled for a 1-1 draw and finished level 3-3 on aggregate, the encounter was decided via penalties. FC Ikpeba held their nerve to triumph 6-5 in the shootout and secure a memorable place in the Round of 16.
