Kaduna-based Ikon Allah Football Academy has celebrated the remarkable rise of its former player, Zadok Yohanna, following his big-money move to Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
The academy expressed pride after the 18-year-old Nigerian winger completed a historic transfer from Swedish club AIK Stockholm to Brighton in a deal reportedly worth £21.5 million, with additional performance-related bonuses.
In an emotional statement shared by the academy, Ikon Allah described Yohanna’s journey as a symbol of dedication, sacrifice, and divine grace.
“From our academy to the Premier League! Congratulations to our very own Zadok Yohanna on signing for Brighton & Hove Albion,” the statement read.
“Zadok, we watched you grow. We saw the dedication, the sacrifices, the early mornings and the late evenings. Today, the world sees what we always knew — that this young man was destined for greatness.”
The academy added that Yohanna’s success serves as motivation for young footballers across Nigeria, proving that hard work and talent can open global opportunities.
“This is not just your achievement, Zadok. This is proof that when talent meets hard work and God’s grace, no door is too big to open.”
“We are incredibly proud of you. Go to The Albion and shine the way only you know how. Represent with excellence. The Ikon Allah family is behind you every step of the way.”
Yohanna’s move to Brighton is believed to be the biggest transfer in Swedish Allsvenskan history, underlining his rapid rise in European football.
The Nigerian youngster joined AIK Stockholm from Ikon Allah Academy in 2025 and quickly established himself as one of the most exciting young talents in Scandinavia.
During his breakthrough campaign, he recorded five goals and four assists in 18 appearances.
His impressive performances also earned him a first senior invitation to the Super Eagles.
Brighton reportedly beat several top European clubs, including Chelsea and Newcastle United, to secure the signature of the highly-rated winger on a long-term contract that runs until 2031.
