WAFCON 2026: Morocco, Algeria Qualify for Quarter-Finals as Senegal Crash Out

Hosts Morocco and Algeria have qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), while Senegal and Kenya have been eliminated from Group A.

Morocco finished top of Group A after playing out a goalless draw with Senegal in their final group-stage match on Monday.

The result took Morocco to seven points from three matches, enough to secure first position and a place in the knockout stage.
Algeria also secured qualification after defeating Kenya 2-0 in the other Group A encounter.

The victory moved Algeria to six points, sealing second place behind the hosts and confirming their progression to the quarter-finals.

Senegal, who finished third with four points, were unable to secure the victory they needed against Morocco to overtake Algeria and qualify for the knockout stage.
Their goalless draw therefore brought their campaign to an end, despite collecting four points from three matches.

Kenya also exited the tournament after finishing bottom of the group without a point.
