Sportspedal Media Launch School Can Play Football Series
Schools invited to register free as organisers seek pitch owners, sponsors and development partners.
Sportspedal Media Limited, producers of Sportsbeat on Jordan 105.5 FM, and owners of sportsbeat.ng has unveiled the School Can Play Football Series, a grassroots initiative designed to discover young football talents and create pathways for their development.
The programme will provide participating schools with opportunities to compete on a periodical basis at designated football centres, where coaches and scouts can identify promising players.
Registration is free, with the initial window closing on November 15, 2026, for the first phase of the project to begin as further details will be shared in earnest.
Lekan Dickson who is the Projector Coordinator, said the initiative aims to bridge the gap between school football and structured talent development.
“Our goal is to create opportunities for talented children to be discovered, nurtured and connected to further development. Every school can produce outstanding footballers, and this initiative will help give them the exposure they need,” Adebayo said.
Deji Bobare, Project Lead and General Manager of Jordan FM, said the station welcomed the initiative because it aligns with its community development objectives and the broader role of football in social and economic advancement.
“We welcomed the idea because it aligns with our community growth and development goals. More importantly, we see it as an opportunity to help transform football in our land by harnessing the game as a tool for development and economic advancement.
“We believe this project can serve as a fundamental pathway to stardom for genuinely talented young players who are waiting for the opportunity to be discovered,” Bobare said.
School proprietors, principals and sports teachers are encouraged to register their schools, while football pitch owners are invited to partner as match and talent-identification centres.
Corporate organisations, relevant Government agencies, individuals and other stakeholders are also welcome to support the project through sponsorship and strategic partnerships.
