Real Madrid Extend Vinícius Jr Contract to 2032, Announce €140m Diomande Signing
Real Madrid have secured the long-term future of Brazilian forward Vinícius Jr, extending his contract with the Spanish giants until June 2032.
The 26-year-old had entered the final year of his previous deal and attracted interest from Arsenal, but Real Madrid confirmed on Thursday that the two parties had reached an agreement on a new six-year contract.
Vinícius joined Real Madrid from Flamengo in 2018 and has established himself as one of the club’s most influential players, scoring 128 goals in 375 appearances across all competitions.
The Brazilian has also played a key role in Real Madrid’s recent success, winning two UEFA Champions League titles, three La Liga crowns and one Copa del Rey.
“Vinícius Jr has become one of the most important players in one of the most successful periods in our history,” Real Madrid said in a statement.
The forward also expressed his delight at extending his stay at the Santiago Bernabéu, describing Real Madrid as the club of his dreams.
His new deal ends speculation over his future, with Arsenal reportedly prepared to intensify their interest if he had rejected Real Madrid’s improved terms.
Real Madrid Announce Diomande Signing
Vinícius’ contract extension came on the same day Real Madrid announced the signing of Ivorian winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig.
The deal is reportedly worth up to €140 million (£120 million), making Diomande one of the most expensive additions in the club’s history.
The 19-year-old is among Real Madrid’s major summer reinforcements as new head coach José Mourinho continues to reshape the squad.
The Spanish champions have also strengthened their ranks with the arrivals of Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konaté, Denzel Dumfries, Marc Cucurella and Carlos Espí.
Real Madrid are also pursuing Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri, although Barcelona have emerged as competition for his signature.
With Vinícius now tied to the club until 2032 and Diomande added to an increasingly star-studded squad, Real Madrid have continued their aggressive approach to building for the future.
