The quarter-final stage of the 2026 Women’s President Federation Cup delivered thrilling encounters on Thursday, with FC Robo Queens producing the biggest upset by eliminating defending champions Rivers Angels to secure a place in the semi-finals.
FC Robo Queens edged Rivers Angels 1-0 in Benin City, ending the title holders’ quest to retain the prestigious trophy and booking their spot among the last four teams in the competition.
In Aba, Heartland Queens battled to a dramatic 2-2 draw against Ibom Angels before prevailing 4-2 in the penalty shootout.
Chimebere Opara opened the scoring for Heartland Queens in the 12th minute, while Umejiaku Oluebube doubled the advantage six minutes after the restart.
However, Ibom Angels mounted a spirited comeback through goals from Miriam Okocha in the 66th minute and Happiness Agboye in the 76th minute to force penalties.
Heartland Queens held their nerve from the spot to advance to the semi-finals.
Elsewhere, Sunshine Queens secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Confluence Queens to continue their impressive cup run.
In another closely contested encounter, Nasarawa Amazons defeated Edo Queens 4-3 on penalties after regulation time ended goalless.
