Phyna–Nkechi Feud Explodes into WAR as Female Celebrity Boxing Debuts at 2026 Chaos in the Ring

The feud between Phyna and Nkechi Blessing has moved beyond words.

On Thursday, October 1, the two Nigerian celebrities will settle their increasingly bitter rivalry inside the boxing ring as the female celebrity bout takes centre stage at the 2026 Chaos in the Ring Independence Edition in Lagos.

What began as a dispute over respect has now developed into a fight fuelled by anger, pride and weeks of verbal exchanges.

Speaking exclusively with Sportsbeat.ng, Phyna made it clear that she is relishing the opportunity to make history as the first female celebrity fighter on the card.

“Being the first female in the celebrity fight is a delight and I am happy to be part of the history. I love to always be the first doing something great.”

But beneath the excitement is a personal feud that has continued to escalate.

Asked about the genesis of her clash with Nkechi, Phyna was blunt.

“She is demanding respect, but she can’t get that from me.”

Phyna insists she has left nothing to chance in preparation for the bout, revealing that her training has been intense and twice daily.

“I am preparing very hard. I train twice a day, in the morning and evening. It’s been tough, but I like it.”

And she is not hiding her ambition.

“Just expect a knockout. Nkechi will be stretched out of the ring after the fight.”

If Phyna’s confidence is unmistakable, Nkechi Blessing’s anger has added another layer of danger to the contest.

The tension boiled over during the final face-off when Phyna spilled raw eggs on Nkechi’s face, triggering an explosive reaction from the actress. Security personnel had to intervene as emotions threatened to turn the pre-fight confrontation into an actual physical altercation before fight night.

Nkechi, visibly furious, promised that Phyna would pay for the disrespect when the bell rings.

“I don’t care about the genesis. I just want to end it in the ring with her. She won’t survive round one. Her disrespect is too much.”

Now, the talk is over.

For Phyna, the objective is a knockout and a place in celebrity boxing history.

For Nkechi, it is about settling the score and silencing her rival inside the ring.

With both women predicting an early finish, the real question on Independence Day is not whether the feud will produce fireworks — but who will still be standing when the first round ends.
