Joy Omewa Ogochukwu, Jennifer Echegini and Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade were among Nigeria’s standout performers for their clubs over the weekend, scoring key goals across Sweden and France as attention shifts to the Super Falcons’ upcoming 2028 Olympic qualifier against Comoros.
Ajibade and Echegini both found the net for Paris Saint-Germain in their convincing 3-1 away victory over Fleury Merogis in the French Féminine Ligue 1, while Omewa Ogochukwu scored twice in BK Häcken’s emphatic 9-0 demolition of IK Uppsala in Sweden.
Echegini opened the scoring for PSG in the 36th minute before Ajibade doubled their advantage in the 58th minute, with the Nigerian duo playing prominent roles in another important league victory.
In Sweden, Omewa Ogochukwu made a fast start for Häcken, scoring in the 10th and 17th minutes to put her side firmly in control before they completed a comprehensive victory.
In England, Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie played the full match for Brighton & Hove Albion as they secured an emphatic 5-1 victory over Charlton in the Women’s Super League.
Meanwhile, Chinwendu Ihezuo and Super Falcons veteran Osinachi Ohale were unused substitutes as Pachuca suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Toluca in Mexico.
In the United States, Michelle Alozie completed the match for Chicago Stars but could not prevent her side from losing 3-0 to Denver Summit in the NWSL.
With the weekend club action now concluded, focus turns to the Super Falcons’ return to camp ahead of their Olympic qualifying clash with Comoros.
Nigeria will be looking to build on its recent performances as the Super Falcons continue their pursuit of qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
