NPFL: Rangers Parade Trophy, Receive Cash, Land from Governor

Nigeria Premier Football League champions Rangers International received huge rewards from Governor Peter Mbah after their trophy parade celebrations in Enugu.

The Flying Antelopes celebrated their ninth NPFL title with a colourful parade across major streets within Enugu metropolis on Tuesday. Supporters flooded different locations across the city as players, officials, and technical crew displayed the league trophy proudly.

The victory procession started from the Rangers Camp before moving through several popular roads across the Coal City during celebrations.

Players rode through the city using the newly introduced Enugu City Tour open-top buses alongside cheering supporters wearing red and white colours.

Thousands of football lovers gathered at Okpara Square where the club organised a grand celebration featuring music and giveaways afterward.

Fans also received jerseys and souvenirs as excitement continued throughout the evening following Rangers’ remarkable title-winning success this season.

After the public celebrations ended, the NPFL champions proceeded to the Enugu State Government House for an official reception ceremony.

Enugu State Governor, Barrister Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, hosted the players, coaching crew, and club management during the colourful event.

Governor Mbah announced a ₦150 million cash reward package for Rangers International following their successful 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League campaign.

According to the governor, players will share ₦100 million, while the remaining ₦50 million goes directly to club management officials.

The governor also approved plots of land for players and management staff as additional rewards for their impressive achievements.

Each beneficiary will receive a Certificate of Occupancy as part of the state government’s commitment toward supporting professional football development.Governor Mbah praised Rangers for bringing pride, unity, and joy to Enugu State through their outstanding performances during the campaign season.

He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication toward improving sports infrastructure and creating better opportunities for athletes across the state in future.

The Enugu State government also revealed plans to renovate the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium before Rangers begin next season’s CAF Champions League campaign.

The proposed upgrade will additionally prepare the stadium facilities ahead of the highly anticipated 2026 Coal City Games competition.Rangers secured the NPFL title after defeating Ikorodu City 2-1 away from home in a dramatic final league encounter in Lagos.
