Rising heavyweight star Moses Itauma has revealed the amusing tactical advice he receives from his father in Nigeria, with the British-Nigerian boxer’s story leaving host Piers Morgan entertained.
Itauma opened up about his family’s involvement in his boxing career during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, where he explained that his father recently requested a meeting with his professional coaching team despite having no background in boxing.
According to the 21-year-old, his father had received what he considered valuable “tactical intelligence” from friends back home in Nigeria and wanted to pass the information directly to the coaching team.
The proposed strategy, however, was remarkably simple.
Itauma revealed that his father’s plan was for him to attack aggressively from the opening bell, target the opponent’s body early and ensure the opponent was unable to remain on his feet by the 10th round.

Itauma recalled that his mother regularly tells him, “You will beat these boys,” while during his amateur career her pre-fight motivation was even more blunt.
He remembered her telling him: “You will beat this fat boy.”
