How Much Did McGregor Make After His 69-Second Nightmare Comeback At UFC 329?

How McGregor Walks Away £60m Richer After 69-Second in UFC 329

Conor McGregor waited years for his UFC return.
The fans packed the arena, the anticipation reached fever pitch, and another blockbuster payday awaited “The Notorious.”

But just 69 seconds after the opening bell, it was all over.

What was billed as one of the biggest fights in UFC history ended in heartbreaking fashion as McGregor crumpled to the canvas after suffering a devastating knee injury during his rematch with Max Holloway at UFC 329.

The Irish superstar’s comeback ended in a first-round TKO defeat, leaving thousands inside the arena stunned.

Yet, despite the painful loss and another setback in his career, McGregor still walked away with one of the biggest paydays of his fighting life.

Reports estimate that the former two-weight world champion earned between £30 million and £32 million in total through his fight purse, pay-per-view shares, sponsorships and other commercial bonuses—roughly £60 million.

His guaranteed purse alone was reportedly around £15 million, while the event’s massive commercial success ensured his earnings climbed significantly higher.

When broken down, the numbers become even more astonishing.

McGregor effectively earned more than £435,000 for every second he spent inside the Octagon before the fight was waved off.

Holloway, who seized the moment to claim a career-defining victory, reportedly received a guaranteed £3 million, with his total earnings expected to reach between £4 million and £5.6 million after bonuses and revenue shares.

McGregor also collected an additional $11,000 through the UFC’s Venum promotional compliance programme.

Although the contest lasted barely over a minute, UFC president Dana White revealed that UFC 329 still shattered the promotion’s all-time gate record, proving that McGregor remains the sport’s biggest box-office attraction regardless of the result.

Now, attention has shifted away from the staggering financial figures to the Irishman’s health.

The extent of his knee injury will determine whether the former champion can mount yet another comeback or whether his latest return may ultimately be remembered not for the money he made, but for the dream that ended after just 69 unforgettable seconds.
