Former Flying Eagles Coach Aliyu Zubairu Joins Sudan’s Al Ahli Madani on Two-Year Deal
Former Flying Eagles head coach Aliyu Zubairu has been appointed as the new head coach of Sudanese top-flight club Al Ahli Madani on a two-year contract.
The Nigerian tactician takes over from veteran Sudanese coach Farouk Jabra and will lead the club in both domestic competitions and the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
Zubairu’s appointment comes shortly after his mutual departure from Egyptian second-tier side Telecom SC, where he earned praise for guiding the club through an impressive spell and helping improve its performances in domestic competitions.
Speaking after completing the move, Zubairu expressed his excitement about embarking on another chapter of his coaching career.
“Joining Al Ahli Madani is a great honour and a new challenge for me.
This is a club with a proud history, passionate supporters, and lofty ambitions. I am eager to work with the players, management, and fans to build a competitive team capable of achieving success, especially in the CAF Confederation Cup,” he said.
The move further enhances Zubairu’s growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s most respected coaches. He previously guided Nigeria’s Flying Eagles with distinction and has continued to build an impressive coaching résumé across Africa.
At Al Ahli Madani, the experienced coach will be expected to challenge for domestic honours while also leading the Sudanese side in continental competition as they seek a strong run in the CAF Confederation Cup.
