Enyimba Denies Owing Former Players Ufere Chinedu, Kalu Nweke
Enyimba Football Club has denied allegations that it owes former players Ufere Chinedu and Kalu Nweke, insisting it has fulfilled all contractual and financial obligations to both players.
In a statement released by the club’s Media Department, the nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions dismissed claims made by content creator Prince Worlu, who alleged that the club had failed to settle the players’ entitlements.
Enyimba clarified that the contracts of Ufere Chinedu and Kalu Nweke expired in June 2026 and confirmed that both players received their salaries for the month of June in full.
The club stressed that there are no outstanding financial obligations to either player.
According to the statement, both players also received their clearance papers and expressed appreciation to the club’s chairman, Ambassador Nwankwo Kanu (OON), after completing the necessary exit formalities.
The club added that Ufere Chinedu and Kalu Nweke acknowledged receiving all the required documents.
Reaffirming its commitment to professionalism, Enyimba maintained that it honours its contractual responsibilities and ensures that players receive their entitlements as agreed.
The Aba-based club also thanked Chinedu and Nweke for their contributions during their time with the People’s Elephant and wished them success in the next phase of their careers.
The statement concluded with a warning to Prince Worlu, stating that the club reserves the right to pursue legal action should what it described as “continuous attacks and defamatory statements” against the club and its management persist.
Enyimba’s response comes amid heightened discussions on player welfare and contractual compliance in Nigerian football, with the club insisting that the matter involving the two former players has been fully resolved.
