Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, have announced their 12-man roster for the second round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup African Qualifiers in Tunisia.
The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) confirmed the squad ahead of the qualifying window scheduled for August 27 to 30, as Nigeria looks to strengthen its position in the race for a place at the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Former AfroBasket captain Ike Nwamu returns to lead the team as captain, bringing leadership and experience alongside seasoned players Stan Okoye and Mike Nuga.

Nigeria will compete in Group C alongside hosts Tunisia, Rwanda, and Guinea during the qualifying window.
The qualifiers form part of the continental pathway to the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup, with five African nations expected to secure qualification for the global tournament.
D’Tigers enjoyed a strong showing in the first qualifying window and will aim to maintain their momentum when action resumes in Tunisia.
Their performances in the August window will be crucial as Nigeria continues its push to return to the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
