Balmoral, Stamina Launch High-Performance Boxing Academy in Nigeria
Balmoral Promotions and Stamina For Sale have launched the Stamina High Performance Academy, a new boxing development initiative aimed at identifying, nurturing and producing the next generation of Nigerian boxing talents.
The academy will operate initially in Lagos and Akwa Ibom, combining Stamina For Sale’s high-performance boxing expertise in the United Kingdom with Balmoral Promotions’ experience and platform within the Nigerian boxing industry.
The initiative is designed to provide talented young fighters with structured training, professional development and pathways to compete at national, international and professional levels.
Founder of Stamina For Sale, Tunde Ajayi, said Nigeria has a wealth of boxing talent that requires the right structure and support to reach its full potential.
“The objective of Stamina High Performance Academy is to identify that talent, develop it properly and create a pathway for athletes with the ability and ambition to progress to the highest levels of the sport,” Ajayi said.
Ajayi has established a reputation for developing high-performance fighters in the UK and has worked with notable professional boxers, including Anthony Yarde, Joel Kodua, Daniel Dubois, Adam Azim, Danny Williams and Harry Simon.
He is particularly recognised for his role in developing Yarde from an amateur novice into a world-level fighter, as well as for his System9 approach to boxing training and performance.
According to Ajayi, launching the academy in Lagos and Akwa Ibom represents the beginning of a long-term project to connect Nigerian boxing talent with elite training opportunities in the UK and beyond.
“Launching in Lagos and Akwa Ibom gives us an important starting point. We want to build something that can grow over time and create a genuine connection between Nigerian talent and high-performance boxing in the United Kingdom and internationally,” he added.
Also speaking, Balmoral Promotions CEO, Dr Ezekiel Adamu, said the partnership would provide a platform for talented Nigerian boxers to receive the development and exposure required to progress in the sport.
“Our collaboration with Stamina brings together Nigerian opportunity and United Kingdom expertise.
The launch of Stamina High Performance Academy is an exciting first step, and we are looking forward to seeing what the next generation of Nigerian boxers can achieve,” Adamu said.
The academy will focus on talent identification, athlete development, high-performance training and creating opportunities for Nigerian fighters to pursue professional and international boxing careers.
Details of the academy’s first talent identification trials in Lagos and Akwa Ibom are expected to be announced in the coming days.
