Arumala Joins Al Ittihad Alexandria as Ikorodu City FC Confirm Transfer

Nigerian forward Joseph Arumala has completed his move from Ikorodu City FC to Egyptian Premier League club Al Ittihad Alexandria.

Ikorodu City confirmed the transfer on Tuesday, August 18, announcing that the 22-year-old has joined the six-time Egyptian Cup champions.

Arumala enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 campaign with the Lagos-based NPFL club, scoring 13 goals and playing a key role in their outstanding league season.

His goalscoring contribution helped Ikorodu City secure a remarkable fourth-place finish in the NPFL following their promotion to the top flight.

The forward, who can operate as a striker or left winger, attracted attention with his pace, direct running and finishing ability throughout the campaign.

His performances have also placed him on the radar as a potential future option for the Super Eagles.

Arumala is expected to continue his development in Egypt as he begins a new chapter with Al Ittihad Alexandria.

Reports indicate that the Nigerian has signed a contract that will keep him at the Egyptian club until June 30, 2029.

The move represents another significant step in the youngster’s career after his breakthrough season with Ikorodu City.

Ikorodu City wished their former attacker success following the completion of the transfer as Arumala prepares to test himself in the Egyptian top flight.

His departure also represents a major transfer for Ikorodu City, who continue to establish themselves as one of the emerging clubs in Nigerian football.

Arumala will now look to make an immediate impact in Egypt and build on the form that made him one of the standout attacking players in the NPFL last season.
