Ikotun All Stars emerged champions of the third edition of the All Stars Sport Competition after securing a 2-0 victory over Federal All Stars in the final at Pako Playing Ground, Omituntun, on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
Goals from Samuel, popularly known as Oba, and Wasiu sealed the triumph for Ikotun All Stars in a keenly contested final, bringing the competition to an exciting conclusion.
The tournament, which celebrates veteran footballers while promoting community engagement, friendship and healthy living, attracted notable personalities and dignitaries who joined football enthusiasts to witness the final.
Among those present were the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akin Johnson, and the Vice Chairman, Hon. Francis Adebisi. Other notable guests included Hon. Akin Bash, Tico, Dangote, Sean Peh, Slow Money, MoneyBag, Richard, Abayomi and Joseph Alabi Gaji.
The latest edition marked another milestone for the competition, which is now in its third year. Golden All Stars, who entered the tournament as defending champions, were unable to retain their title as Ikotun All Stars claimed the honours.
Speaking with Sportsbeat.ng, the event organisers, Joseph Alabi Gaji, explained that the competition was established to strengthen relationships among communities, encourage healthy lifestyles and provide a platform for former footballers to remain active.
“The competition is to build friendship, promote love and unity among communities, bring people together and encourage us to keep fit. There is also a lot to gain health-wise from participating in sports,” Gaji said.
The organisers expressed satisfaction with this year’s edition, reiterating their commitment to bringing out the best in veteran and former footballers while using sports as a vehicle for unity, togetherness and stronger community relationships.
They also acknowledged the contributions of the various committee members whose dedication and collective efforts ensured the successful organisation of the competition.
With Ikotun All Stars now crowned champions, the third edition has further reinforced the value of grassroots and veterans’ football as a platform for recreation, community bonding and the promotion of healthy living.
