Mubarak Suleiman Brace Powers Slavia Prague to Czech Cup Quarter Finals

Nigerian youngster Mubarak Suleiman scored twice as Slavia Prague thrashed Zbrojovka Brno 4-0 to book their place in the quarter-finals of the 2026/27 Czech Cup.

Suleiman delivered an impressive attacking performance in Tuesday’s encounter at the Fortuna Arena, scoring in both halves to help Slavia secure a convincing victory and advance to the last eight of the competition.

The Nigerian forward broke the deadlock in the 28th minute before Wiktor Nowak doubled Slavia’s advantage from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time.

David Jurásek extended the hosts’ lead in the 63rd minute, putting Slavia firmly in control of the tie.

Suleiman then completed his brace in the 85th minute, finding the net after being set up by substitute Mojmír Chytil to round off an emphatic cup performance.

The two goals highlighted the youngster’s growing contribution to Slavia’s attacking options as the Prague-based club continued their pursuit of domestic cup success.

Fellow Nigerians David Moses and Samuel Isife also featured in the encounter, underlining the Nigerian presence in Slavia’s squad.

Moses started the match and was replaced by Toumani Diakité in the 77th minute, while Isife came on at the same time for Jurásek.

The comprehensive victory secured Slavia’s progression to the quarter-finals, with Suleiman emerging as one of the standout performers after his decisive contribution in front of goal.

For Suleiman, the brace represents an encouraging milestone in his development in European football, providing another opportunity to demonstrate his attacking quality on a competitive stage.

The Nigerian youngster will now hope to maintain his scoring form as Slavia Prague turn their attention to the next stage of the Czech Cup and their other domestic commitments.
