UEFA Champions League: Cunha Fires Manchester United to Dramatic Comeback as PSG Run Riot, Barcelona Silence Villa

Matheus Cunha inspired Manchester United to a remarkable 3-2 comeback victory over AS Roma, while Paris Saint-Germain delivered a six-goal demolition of Villarreal and Barcelona secured a commanding win over Aston Villa in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League Matchday 4 action.

PSG produced the most emphatic result of the night, overwhelming Villarreal 6-0 away from home to maintain their perfect start to the league phase.

The French champions wasted little time asserting their dominance, with João Neves opening the scoring in the ninth minute before Désiré Doué doubled the advantage three minutes later. Senny Mayulu made it 3-0 in the 13th minute, while Fabián Ruiz added a fourth in the 17th minute.

Ruiz completed his brace five minutes into the second half before David Boly added the sixth to seal a memorable victory.

The result took PSG to 12 points from four matches, strengthening their position among the leading contenders for automatic qualification to the round of 16.

Cunha Inspires Manchester United Comeback

Manchester United produced one of the most dramatic performances of the evening, recovering from a two-goal deficit to defeat AS Roma 3-2 at Old Trafford.

Roma took an early advantage through Matías Soulé in the 11th minute before Donyell Malen converted a penalty six minutes later to put the visitors 2-0 ahead.

United struggled to break through before Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty in the 58th minute to revive the hosts’ hopes.

With the pressure mounting, Matheus Cunha took responsibility in the closing stages, scoring twice in the 83rd and 86th minutes to complete a stunning turnaround.

However, the Brazilian’s decisive contribution ended on a sour note as he was sent off in stoppage time.

The victory handed Michael Carrick’s side three valuable points, taking their tally to six after four matches.

Barcelona Shut Out Aston Villa

Barcelona strengthened their qualification ambitions with a convincing 3-0 victory over Aston Villa.

Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the seventh minute, giving the Spanish giants an early advantage before Raphinha took control after the interval.

The Brazilian winger scored twice, finding the net in the 52nd and 64th minutes to complete a comfortable victory.

Beyond the three points, Barcelona’s clean sheet represented an important defensive milestone, ending their prolonged wait for a Champions League shutout.

The result moved Barcelona to nine points, keeping them firmly in contention for a place in the league phase’s top eight.
