‘ Pick a Date’ Tiwa Savage Accepts Teni’s Boxing Challenge as Celebrity Fights Gain Traction

Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has accepted fellow singer Teni’s challenge to a celebrity boxing bout, adding fresh intrigue to Nigeria’s fast-growing celebrity fight scene.

Teni issued the challenge in a viral video on Friday, October 2, proposing a ₦1.5bn purse for the potential showdown.

While discussing the lavish lifestyles of Nigerian entertainers, Teni jokingly called out Savage and promised to defeat her before serenading her with Savage’s hit song, My Darling.

Savage responded with a brief but striking message: “Pick a date.”

The response quickly sent social media into overdrive, although no promoter, venue, contract or official date has been announced.

The exchange comes as celebrity boxing continues to gain momentum in Nigeria following the Chaos in the Ring series promoted by Balmoral Group Promotions.

BBNaija winner Phyna recently stopped actress Nkechi Blessing in Lagos, while entertainers including Portable, Charles Okocha, Speed Darlington and Carter Efe have also featured in the series.

Carter Efe defeated Portable by unanimous decision in Chaos in the Ring 4, after Portable had earlier beaten Okocha and Speed Darlington.

A Tiwa-Teni bout would add another major entertainment rivalry to the emerging celebrity boxing circuit—but for now, Savage has left the next move to Teni: “Pick a date.”
