Niger State Governor, Umar Mohammed Bago, has appointed respected football administrator Abdulmajeed Ibrahim, popularly known as Greenboi, as the new Sporting Director of Nigeria Premier Football League side Niger Tornadoes.
The appointment forms part of the newly inaugurated management committee for the Minna-based club following the dissolution of the previous board.
Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso will head the committee as Chairman, while Suleiman Usman Baban Ramu serves as Director of Welfare. Other members include Alhaji Ibrahim Audi (Director of Logistics), Babale Musa SAM (Team Manager), Adamu Yusuf (General Coordinator), George Nuhu Daniya (TMS Officer), Ruqayya Musa Evuti (Director of Media), Mohammed D. Abdullahi (Accountant), Samaila Musa (Administrative Officer) and Jibrin Haruna (Secretary).
According to the Niger State Ministry of Sports, Youth and Social Development, the new committee has been tasked with strengthening the club’s administration and ensuring improved performances ahead of the 2026/27 NPFL campaign.
Ibrahim arrives with a strong reputation in Nigerian football administration and is expected to oversee the club’s sporting structure, player recruitment and long-term football development.
Speaking after his appointment, the new Sporting Director thanked Governor Bago for the opportunity to serve.
“I am deeply honoured by this appointment and sincerely thank His Excellency, Governor Umar Muhammad Bago, for finding me worthy to serve Niger Tornadoes in this capacity. I am committed to justifying the confidence reposed in me.”
He also expressed appreciation to the club’s new chairman, Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso, promising to work closely with the management team to build a competitive squad capable of achieving success.
“I equally thank our Chairman, Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso, for the confidence reposed in me. I look forward to working with him and the entire management committee to reposition Niger Tornadoes for sustained success,” Ibrahim added.
The appointment has been well received by football stakeholders, who believe Ibrahim’s experience, leadership and strategic approach could play a key role in revitalising Niger Tornadoes as they prepare for the new NPFL season.
